Landing Strip offers a unique blend of plant varieties designed to provide cover and food in summer, fall, and winter for your resident and migrating waterfowl population. Comprised of three varieties of millet and one variety of sorghum, Landing Strip will mature in 60–80 days, can be planted by water, and can be flooded once it is mature. This combination of plants can grow 3–5 feet tall and will help increase your chances during migration by creating the perfect “landing strip” to hunt over.
Landing Strip can handle the heat, offering flexibility in planting dates and holding up for long periods once established. It provides a reliable food source for waterfowl and is typically planted near a wetland or body of water that can supply birds with a dependable drinking source. Planting on the edge of a pond or in a floodable area can deliver outstanding results.
In addition to improving waterfowl habitat and food, we’ve found Landing Strip to be a favorite for upland birds and deer as well — making this a true habitat mix.
