Up to 5 years of growth with one planting. Shade tolerant and easy to maintain.
Loaded with a powerful combination of cold season perennials and annuals, Comeback Kid is a protein rich, tonnage producing clover mix designed for year round food production and attraction for deer and turkey. By combining four special varieties of clover with one variety of alfalfa, we have created a perennial mix that establishes quickly and can last up to five years with proper maintenance.
Comeback Kid produces forages with protein levels exceeding 30 percent, creating an absolute deer magnet. When your clover begins to flower, it signals maturity and it is the perfect time to mow the plot down to 6 to 8 inches. Periodic mowing helps eliminate unwanted weeds and stimulates fresh regrowth of the clover and alfalfa, keeping them strong, healthy and highly attractive. It is during this regrowth stage that Comeback Kid delivers peak nutrition and maximum deer activity.
Designed to be the foundation of your food plot program, Comeback Kid provides the backbone of herd nutrition with high protein forage, is one of the first plots to green up in the spring and remains extremely cold tolerant deep into a northern winter. It can play an integral role in improving overall herd health and long term food plot success.
Comeback Kid is also one of our favorite perennial mixes for winter and early spring frost seeding, offering a natural and effective way to establish long lasting perennials. It has become a top choice for shady backwoods areas and logging roads due to its strong shade tolerance, longevity and low maintenance requirements. In higher shade environments, we recommend planting in early spring to allow strong root and stem development before the canopy closes.
